Eastern Air Lines Flight 663 was a DC-7B departing from New York City to Richmond, Virginia. On February 8, 1965 at about 6:30 p.m., it crashed near Jones Beach State Park in New York after takeoff from John F. Kennedy International Airport when forced to evade inbound of Pan Am Flight 212. All 84 onboard died. The evasive action was blamed for leaving the plane out of control.
