East Port Orchard is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. The population was 5,116 at the 2000 census.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there are 5,116 people, 1,893 households, and 1,385 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 790.1/km² (2,043.1/mi²). There are 1,965 housing units at an average density of 303.5/km² (784.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 85.83% White, 1.74% African American, 1.11% Native American, 4.30% Asian, 1.29% Pacific Islander, 1.29% from other races, and 4.44% from two or more races. 4.63% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,893 households out of which 37.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.9% are married couples living together, 12.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.8% are non-families. 21.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.70 and the average family size is 3.12.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 29.0% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 29.4% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 10.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 96.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 92.7 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP is $42,571, and the median income for a family is $50,012. Males have a median income of $35,291 versus $27,635 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $18,834. 9.5% of the population and 7.1% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 14.0% of those under the age of 18 and 2.8% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
