East High School (also known as Duluth East) is the largest of three public secondary schools in Duluth, Minnesota. It educates students in grades nine through twelve. It first opened its doors in 1927, as a junior high school. In 1950, it became a senior high school to serve the growing student population. [1].
Situated in a residential neighborhood in eastern Duluth, Duluth East currently serves about 1,530 students [2].

Many graduates of Duluth East High School have gone on to achieve feats in athletics, broadcasting and electoral politics.
- Sean Hill is a professional hockey player in the National Hockey League
- Eric Eskola is a well-known journalist, specializing in politics and public affairs in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. He reports on politics on WCCO Radio and hosts the program "Almanac" on Twin Cities Public Television.
- Mike Hatch is the former Minnesota Attorney General. He was the DFL Party nominee for Governor in 2006. In a very close race, Hatch lost the general election to incumbent Governor Tim Pawlenty.
- Phil Verchota played on the 1980 Miracle on Ice and 1984 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team.

Duluth East High School has extracurricular activities that students can join. These activities include athletic teams, service organizations, and academic teams.

Duluth East boasts a wide variety of athletic teams. All of these teams compete with other schools and thus, are governed by the regulations of the Minnesota State High School League. The athletic teams include:
