East Coast Radio, also known as ECR, is a KwaZulu-Natal commercial radio station with an audience of over 2 million. It is the second largest regional radio station in South Africa.
The radio station has an experienced line-up of presenters, including former Capital Radio 604 jocks Darren Scott, and Dave Guselli. Former Big Brother finalist Mags van der Westhuizen co-hosts the afternoon drive show. Darryl Illbury is on the BIG breakfast weekday mornings, Dave Guselli handles mid-morning, Just Plain Darren Scott is on lunch, whilst the weekends include Neville Pillay and Rowan Clelland's Global Hot Hits.
ECR dominates in the affluent LSM 6-10 urban group in KwaZulu Natal with an operating profit margin of 50.8% in 2006. 2

East Coast Radio is based in Durban, South Africa, and is part of the Kagiso Media Group.

Trish Taylor, East Coast Radio
Trish Taylor is 35 years old and has been in the media industry for 13 years. Having completed her studies, Trish started her career at the [SABC] in 1992. After two years working for the state broadcaster, she was elected onto the SABC's fast tracked management programme and spent two years studying part time at the Graduate School of Business.
In 1996, [East Coast Radio] became independent from the state broadcaster and Trish was approached by the new consortium to head up the commercial division of the company. She started as the Sales Manager in 1996.
Trish was then appointed a Director of [East Coast Radio] in 1999. She held the position of Sales and Marketing Director for three years before being promoted to CEO of [East Coast Radio] at the age of 32. She is the youngest CEO to be appointed in the Kagiso Group of Companies.
In her first year as CEO, [East Coast Radio] grew its revenue by 30% year on year and the station now reaches an audience of almost two million people.
Trish also serves on the Kagiso Advisory Board.
