East Branch Brandywine Creek

The East Branch Brandywine Creek is located in Chester County, Pennsylvania. The creek starts in Suplee near Honey Brook and meets the West Branch Brandywine Creek in Lenape. Many citizens still have trouble classifying this creek as a creek or a river. The East Brandywine served as a source of energy for hundreds of years. The rushing waters also powered many factories in Downingtown. When heavy rains come it usually floods Downingtown, because the town is in a flood basin surrounded by hills. But for some, the rain can mean ideal white-water kayaking. The East Brandywine is also known for its fish, the Game Species are: Rainbow trout, Brown trout, Smallmouth bass, Largemouth bass, Bluegill, Common carp. The Mouth of the creek is at 40°03'05" N 75°43'20" W. Average Annual precipitation is 1100 mm. The creek starts ar 180 m and has a relief of 90 m.
