[edit] John Ling
I propose that you go ahead and get the John Ling article removed completely. It is clear that he and his supporters have been quite a nuisance. I can't believe you've allowed this prick to run around for so long with no consequences. He flaunts Wikipedia rules with no regard.

[edit] Boleh anda tolong Aiman? / Can you help Aiman?
Terima kasih. --Bruin_rrss23 (talk) 09:39, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Can you please help Aiman abmajid? He needs a little a little advise and help because he always uses the article's name in the edit summary and also doesn't tag his images with one of the copyright tags. I know he simply creates articles about the locations in Kuala Lumpur and some other subjects (Good short articles can be stubbed). There are a few images and articles which have been deleted because it's too short, no copyright tag, etc. He almost got blocked! Can you give him some help? If you have any questions you can contact me on my talk page. Thank you. --Bruin_rrss23 (talk) 09:39, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Langkasuka
Hi Hafiz, I translated accordingly from the Wiki-Chinese-Langkasuka page, I believe there's no special reason you must delete it. I can read Chinese Wiki pages, so I can help to add in some viewpoints where English pages missing. Anyway thanks. L joo 16:24, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tahan Mountain Trekking Team
Hi, there is no basis to add a 'considered for deletion' tag. It should be merged. Moreover, it should be noted that there is sufficient data there for it to be in its own article. I do not quite understand why you put the tag there. Thx. Pls reply on the discussion page. -- mh 14:58, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Parameswara
"Sejarah Melayu alleges that Parameswara was a descendant of Alexander the Great of Macedonia."
Hi Hafiz, need a discussion with you. What do you have in mind about the line above, what possibilities could be? Are we not curious? ...since it came from Sejarah Melayu. L joo 13:52, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, I mean, I am very curious why Sejarah Melayu claimed Parameswara descended from Alexander the Great without much explain. Why has to be Alexander? Why not Darius, Cyrus the Great, Genghiz Khan, etc? L joo 15:36, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
"In Islam, Alexander the Great is looked upon highly." "..remember of reading somewhere that Alexander was a believer of the Abrahamic tradition. So, it could be that Tun Sri Lanang was trying to justify the power of the Malaccan and subsequent Malay monarchs. A link to Alexander would elevate the status of the Malay monarch."
OK I see, thanks. And there was another Kedah Annals mentioned Alexander the Great as well, so could it be that Tun Sri Lanang 'copy' the idea? (Kedah Annals created much earlier, right?) L joo 15:55, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

No problems at all! It was good to hear the perspective from a Malaysian, and hope it was interesting to hear the Australian perspective also. The only time we ever see Dr. M on TV here, is when he is crticising us, so of course we have a negative view. We don't hear about his good side. [edit] Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Ketuanan Melayu
Hey, Ketuanan Melayu is now on FAC, and I thought it would be good to have another Malaysian's impression of the article, especially a Malay Malaysian. I'm worried that it might be too slanted in one direction or another, and also about its slightly unwieldy length. If you have any ideas for improving the article, let me know. Thanks! Johnleemk | Talk 14:51, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, no problem. Concern's been expressed that the article might not be neutral, but we're having trouble assessing the extent of the problem (if any) because most people who are educated about the issue (or just know something about it) tend to be biased against it (e.g. me, Singaporean Wikipedians, etc.). If you could give your honest opinion/feedback, it would be nice. Still, please don't feel bothered. I hope you're enjoying your new job. :) Johnleemk | Talk 12:47, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Chinese Malaysian
I think it should be Chinese Malaysian because Chinese is an adjective describing the proper noun Malaysian. Anyway, I think our Malaysian nationality should be emphasised before our race. I know it can be confusing because 99.99% of Chinese in Malaysia will tell you it's Malaysian Chinese. I don't really mind. Wai Hong 06:13, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Malaysian Chinese
I suggest you to use Malaysian's Chinese because rather than use Chinese Malaysia or Malaysian Chinese, simply Chinese is from China, but to make clear it is Malaysian's Chinese. --Aleenf1 08:17, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Malaysian Chinese and vice-versa
My suggestion is, let's just stick to the more popular term that's being used. There's not much use in arguing over an unambiguous term such as this, since both are acceptable. Take a chill pill dude. :) --Andylkl [ talk! | c ] 09:14, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

- The reason for returning to Malaysian Chinese was because the original move was done improperly. You moved the page by cutting and pasting all the information back and forth between the two pages. The proper way to have moved it would have been to use the move function. Simply cutting and pasting deletes the page history and should not be done.--Yuje 16:57, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

What, in your opinion, is the most important news event in September in Malaysia? 200,000 civil servants wanting a pay raise? The continuing beef with Mahathir? I'm not sure, so I'm asking, for the benefit of Portal:Current events/Southeast Asia. --Wisekwai 12:22, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- I'm fine, thanks for asking. I think I'll go with the astronauts, since it's the one news event out of Malaysia that I know for sure is already covered on the page. The sugar shortage is interesting, though. In Thailand, the only kind of bulk sugar available in stores is brown sugar. Hello there Earth/Archive2. For the next two weeks we have chosen >>>Indonesian War of Independence<<< for the Indonesia Collab. Also, please vote for the next fortnight. He's been making some interesting edits to Malaysian articles lately. I'm not that much of a local history buff, so perhaps you could help me examine some of the claims he's making, and the information he's been removing? (For instance, he removed the Johor article's claim that it was one of two successors to the Melaka sultanate, together with Perak, so the article now suggests that the Johor sultanate was the sole successor of the Melaka sultanate.) If you're too busy, I understand, but I'm rather reluctant to touch anything without further knowledge of the situation. Johnleemk | Talk 17:54, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] British Malaya
Ok cool, I'm currently trying to finish off Federated Malay States for this last two days before flying back home. I reckon I can help you better if u have a good game plan on how to finish the pie.
In the mean time I'm trying to start a new project on historical Malacca, I've already finished Battle of Cape Rachado, and I have enough material to start on the city and fortress of Dutch Malacca (the fortress layout, defensive profile etc) thanks to the Dutch National Archive. So they'll be some new articles and a period of consolidating everything. That is if nobody goes ahead and starts to create one liner stub articles. And that seriously turns me off.

Thanks for uploading Image:BokHseTheStar.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). [edit] Jawi script status
In regards to Jawi script, Jawi script is part of Malay Language, and hence it is part of the official language of Malaysia. I have put jawi scripts in most cities as means of standardization. Thank you.
[edit] Cities' seals and flags
I noticed that most cities and towns were not granted seals on their own right but rather to the administrators (i.e DBKL, MPPJ, Putrajaya corporation, MBSA). Though the flags can be argued belonging to the cities (KL, Putrajaya, Ipoh) but with Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur instead of just Kuala Lumpur doesn't that demonstrate the point? Am I correct? Or are they actually cities/towns that have their own city seals? -- Bukhrin 17:52, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
