[edit] Humans and Clients

In the books Humanity is an insignificant race, having no known Patrons (a species responsible for uplifting them) and having mostly primitive technology, Humans have two (confirmed) clients and are referred to formally as "a Human /-ul Chimpanzee -ul Dolphin".

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Neo-gorillas were introduced in the novel "Uplift War". They are further from full sapiency compared to the neo chimpanzees and neo dolphins. While they do originate from Earth, at the end of the book the choose to be uplifted, instead, by the Thennanin

Spoilers end here.

[edit] Neo-Chimpanzees

Chimpanzees are the first clients of Humans and are the most "complete" in that they are closest to full sapiency, losing their ability to speak has become one of their greatest fears. They are Stage 2 clients and but almost became Stage 3 when the Gubru invaded Garth. Neo-Chimpanzees like music, specifically Percussion.

[edit] Neo-Dolphins

Dolphins are the second clients of Humans, and are some of the best pilots in the Five Galaxies. They are Stage 2 Clients, and recently got their own Starship, Streaker (Streaker's discoveries later caused controversy amongst Oxygen breathing sapients).

[edit] Neo-Dogs

Dogs have been mentioned as a possible client of Humanity in several books, but their final adoption has not been confirmed.

[edit] Kiqui

Kiqui are a pre-sapient amphibious species first discovered on the planet Kithrup, in the book Startide Rising, It has been suggested that they will be adopted as a client of Humanity. If they were adopted as clients by Humanity, it would make them humanities first extraterrestrial clients.

[edit] Technology

Unlike other races Humans and their clients look fondly on creativity. They are also considered odd for using archaic technology in addition to the more advanced Galactic technology
