The title of Earl of Sheffield was created in the Peerage of Ireland in 1816, and became extinct in 1909.
The Earls bore the subsidiary titles of Viscount Pevensey (1816), Baron Sheffield (1781) and Baron Sheffield (1783) in the Peerage of Ireland, and of Baron Sheffield (1802) in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. The more junior Irish barony of Sheffield is now held by the Baron Stanley of Alderley.
