Eamonn Loughran born in Ballymena, Northern Ireland is a former professional boxer.[1] He usually fought at light welterweight or light welterweight or the divisions either side.

[edit] Amateur career
Loughran boxed as an amateur for Ireland and won a silver medal at the 1987 World Junior Boxing Championships in Havana, Cuba before turning professional later that year.[2]

In December 1987, Loughran fought in his first professional fight at the Ulster Hall, Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, in which he beat Glaswegian Adam Muir on a card that included Dave "Boy" McAuley and Andy Holligan.[3]
Loughran was a veteran of the British professional fight scene fought out of the Breen Gym in Belfast for the majority of his career. Loughran is a former Commonwealth Light Welterweight Title holder and won the WBO Welterweight Title and defended this title five times until he lost to José Luis Lopez in March 1996 after which Loughran announced his retirement.[1]
