E.Y. Freeland

Ewing Y. Freeland was a head football coach at Texas Christian University and Texas Tech.

In 1925, Freeland coached at TCU, compiling a 4-5 record. Later in 1925, he became the first coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders football team. He coached at Texas Tech until 1928, where he had a 21-10-6 record. His overall career record stands at 25-15-6.

Freeland is credited with designing Texas Tech's Double T symbol. He had it put on the sweaters of football players.[1]
