[edit] Recent character history
E.J. Wells appeared to be a charming man who had genuine feelings for Sami Brady. However, Kate Roberts had asked Wells to seduce Sami in order to keep her away from her son, Lucas. In the process, Kate became romantically involved with Wells herself. E.J. and Kate also joined forces professionally to form Mythic Communications from the now defunct Austin Reed Company (ARC). Soon after, E.J. promoted Sami to a full partner (Sami's contract was acquired by Mythic during the transfer from ARC to Mythic) and made the shocking statement to Kate that he wanted Sami to bear his child.
During much of 2006, a mysterious "gloved hand" terrorized the citizens of Salem, many of them Brady family members. The mastermind behind these events was revealed to be E.J. Wells, who was in constant contact with DiMera operatives in Italy. Patrick Lockhart also worked for him. In December 2006, a seriously ill Stefano DiMera revealed to Marlena Evans that E.J. Wells was in fact a DiMera. Specifically, he is Elvis Aaron Banks (Elvis Jr.), Stefano's son with Susan Banks. Wells' true identity explained his reasons for engineering the attacks on the Brady family.
Around Christmas 2006, Wells shot John Black on Stefano's orders, but Black ended up in a coma. Wells would accomplish his other goal, however, of having sex with Sami Brady in the hopes of impregnating her with the DiMera seed. Wells fled to Mexico, but soon returned to Salem once he was cleared of all charges. Lexie Carver and Tek Kramer - the two people who knew E.J. shot John Black - mysteriously disappeared.
Currently, Wells is back running Mythic. He has hired Sami's fiance, Lucas Roberts, and admitted he has no intention of leaving Sami alone. She is now pregnant and Wells secretly believes the baby to be his.
[edit] True identity
The 'Elvis Junior' character has been dramatically SORASed. He was born on an episode airing February 21, 1997 to Susan Banks, but was first known to the world as 'John Black Jr.' Susan sold the baby to Kristen Blake, who passed off the baby as her own by John Black. Susan eventually took her baby back, claiming that the true father of the baby was Elvis Presley. She named the baby after Presley, even calling him 'Elvis Junior'. Later, however, it was revealed that Stefano DiMera was his true father. Elvis Junior eventually left Salem with Susan Banks to be raised in England.[1] [2]
