[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Trieste.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Trieste.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] FHC
You're absolutely right. I thought it meant that there "was" no party loyalty and that there is now loyalty, as opposed to there "was" no loyalty back during FHC's government. I'm reverting back to your version.
[edit] Hannibal
Sorry, I reverted your edit, since I was thinking about a mispelled boldface link. I reckon you were right. Thank you for re-editing the page. gala.martin (what?) 00:37, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] AfD
Hello. I noticed that you've used the "vote" symbol on AfD. Could I persuade you to not do that? While it often looks like a vote, it's not. Emphasising the binary/counting nature makes the discussion appear less important, when in fact it's the whole point. A naked "vote" that fails to provide supporting rational is often discounted by the closing adminstrator. Thanks.

[edit] Invito
Io detesto tutti i totalitarismi e tutti i dittatori! Ciao,--PIO 17:58, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] PIO
Could you please tell to PIO that his behaviour is not acceptable in Wikipedia? I would tell him myself but it seems that he started his personal crusade (he went on to contact users who discussed with me in the past to ask them to make a "common front" against me!) and doesn't care about what I write: he simply reverts everything. See for example this edit: he reverted the additions of some in-text references, two minor rewordings and he didn't notice that he reverted to your version that incorporates many changes I made yesterday. Do you know if I should report this kind of behaviour to the admins? Is there a specific page for these sitations? Thank you. GhePeU 18:39, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- To the best of my knowledge, this is the page you seem to be looking for[1]. However, I think we should wait a little more to see if we can bring PIO to mainstream, fully constructive editing. Ultimately he means well, and I don't think that a threat of blocking would solve the situation. It rarely does. I've seen some users who manage to mask their inherent POV quite well, so as to manipulate articles without being noticed. He, on the other hand, is explicit (often candidly so) in trying to revert what he perceives as a Yugoslavian/Titoist bias from some Slavic and Left-wing Italian sources. At times, he happens to be somewhat right on this very particular issue, which doesn't at all justify edit warring or slighting personal remarks, of course (although he himself has been the target of much badmouthing from other users). I guess it's more a matter of tact and Wikiquette. A self-righteous approach from either part won't solve a thing here. Let's observe his next moves and try to demonstrate that we can always find some common ground.E.Cogoy 20:14, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
Ciao,--PIO 17:31, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Dance capitalization
I noticed that you listed yourself as a linguist. There is currently a dispute at the Lindy Hop article the Dance WikiProject about the capitalization of dances that could use the expertise of a linguist. If you think you might be able to help, we would certainly appreciate your comments. Thanks! --Cswrye 05:07, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Guaiba.jpg)
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Guaiba.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Also, please note that a website that does not state any copyright can not be interpreted as releasing their rights. They must explicitly release their rights. --Durin 16:48, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Triestino
You are absolutely correct, please excuse me. I already reverted my silly edits. --Fertuno 08:40, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Friulian and Tergeste
Hello, I saw by chance your note at Fertuno's page: I really didn't know that Friulian had been spoken at Trieste. That's very interesting. Could you be so kind to give me some references, please? Many thanks, Claudi--Clamengh 19:48, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] How do you sort Portuguese names alphabetically?
Hi. I was wondering if you could help answering the question I posted here: Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions#Alphabetical order of some non-English names. Thanks in advance. John Anderson 15:15, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
