From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
E. and G.G. Hook was a company that was engaged in pipe organ manufacturing during the 19th century. Later known as Hook and Hastings, the firm was one of the premier organ building companies in the United States.
The company was founded by brothers Elias and George Greenleaf Hook in 1827. The two brothers were sons of a cabinet maker in Salem, Massachusetts who both apprenticed with the organ builder William Goodrich. Eventually Frank Hastings joined the firm, and became a partner in 1870.
