I moved the Steam Glich section to the bottom - it was thrown in there with Overview - what the heck? A past glich is not an overview item. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by DavidBeoulve (talkcontribs) 00:08, 8 September 2006 (UTC).

Perhaps we should just remove that section altogether? I play this game quite a lot and did not even know this. I also fail to see what it adds to the article. -- Sirius81 04:53, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I think that section's getting the boot. There's absolutely no reason for it to be there. ZenSaohu 06:10, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

I think we should remove "hacker" from the slang, the devs intended it to be called "decking" so to not confuse people. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.243.128.9 (talk) 20:30, 27 September 2005 (UTC).

I added it back to the "Slang" section simply because that's what it is - slang. The correct term, as you say, is decking, so your changes to the rest of the article are to be kept. Nufy8 20:39, 27 September 2005 (UTC)

Did a big edit for readability and grammar, hope nobody minds... anyway, I added a bit about the grenades that each class is equipped with, but I'm not sure whether I got the details right, so if someone could check on that for me (in the class section) that'd be great. --Tidalflame 12:51, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

Updated grenades with info and fixed the heavy's grenade. Thank god for spideys! Kingcobweb 04:45, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

Did a major rewrite of the Cyberspace Overview subsection, especially the part about Cyberspace attacks. By the way, is it really necessary to have a whole sentence stating what fire buttons fire which attack? Plus, I added info on what the weapons actually damage. Without it, how is a total newb supposed to know what the point of Cyberspace combat is? (that is, to dump a user from cyberspace) --Tssha 19:11, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

Actually, you can extend that rewrite to the whole Cyberspace section. Mostly changes in tone and clarification of ambiguous points. Also replaced all the word/word terms with one term, because it's best to just pick one. --Tssha 19:44, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

Some of these Slangs are incorrect i've never heard someone say cloacker ingame. Stealther is used all the time.Ghezus 11:43, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
Cloaker is incorrect slang? I don't think so, seeing as I use it, as do the people I play with, I think it comes from the fact that Ghosts in starcraft use Cloak. ---bj
Different people use different slang, it doesn't matter. Though technically speaking, stealther is the proper one, as it is the one the developers use ("Stealther spotted" is a voice command). Master of Puppets Giant Enemy Crab! 06:50, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Recent Site Hack

Can someone put up some information about the recent attacks by an unknown hacker on the Dystopia website? I don't know any specific details myself other than that the site was attacked, taken down for redesigneing and security beefing, was attacked by the same person soon after coming back up and was taken down again for even more security beefing. The Kinslayer 09:58, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

As the Dys webmaster and project manager, I'd actually prefer if that info was kept out of the article. However, I can let you know that the site wasn't hacked with the intention of getting access to any Dystopia content or to cause the Dystopia project any harm. The hackers used a vuln in a seperate site hosted on the same box to set up a phishing page and send out a bucket load of spam email. The 2nd attempt wasn't successful, it merely pointed me directly to the vuln file. Fuzzwah 01:25, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
No problem! The Kinslayer 09:38, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

If we are going to talk about slang, I've been playing since the beta came out, but I've never heard of gibson, samuri, labia (come on), or teddy.

[edit] slang

"Backhack" is a term I've heard a lot in the short time I've been playing. Proposed def'n: The recapture of an objective by the Corps...or something to that effect. Put in? On an unrelated topic, this talk page needs some clean-up; or, better, Wikipedia needs to change that "+" on the tab above to the word "talk" so this type of formatting isn't such a common mistake. This is not to suggest that I know what I'm doing, mind you. 128.135.6.3 04:08, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Version 1

Dropped a huge amount of information pertaining to the new Version 1 and expanded the "programs" section of Cyberspace. ZenSaohu 01:34, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Second edit; added pictures to cyberspace and general cleanup. ZenSaohu 05:24, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Download Stats

One of these days someone's gonna have to get some download stats down here for Version 1... I'm too tired right now. ZenSaohu 05:43, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Picture

This is just a minor issue but the picture of the heavy punk is an old one. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gibith (talkcontribs) 17:25, 26 February 2007 (UTC).

[edit] WP:CVG Assessment

Some short points, for more consider a peer review. These will take some time to correct anyhow:

  • Too much game guide-like information.
  • Too many lists - write more real content and encyclopaedic content.
  • No references.

I gave it a low importance (as opposed to No-importance.) rating because it's a mod of a notable game. Derivatives of a game are generally one importance scale lower than the game itself. HL-2 is 'Mid'.

--User:Krator (t c) 16:59, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

All right then, I'll get to work on compressing it. I figured there was a little too much depth for a basic overview. ZenSaohu 01:42, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Slang Entry for "Med"

RE: "Med - A shortened term for the medium class player, but is also almost synonymous with "Medic"." slang entry. I've never heard med used to mean mediplant or medic, only medium. "Medi" is the normal term for a medic.
