This article was accidentally created under a miss-spelling of polorisation and then the correct page was created without performing a move. Therefore this page is now redundant and should be removed or at worst become a REDIRECT.


Not sure if the above constitutes a good reason for merger, but yes, DNP should be merged with Overhauser effect.


This topic should be elaborated. True, DNP was first performed through the Overhauser Effect in 1950's. But it has been generalized as a method to transfer spin polarization from electrons to nuclei. In addition to the Overhauser Effect, polarizing mechanisms can be the solid effect, the cross effect and thermal mixing.
