Dylan McKay was a character in the popular FOX TV series Beverly Hills 90210. He was portrayed by actor Luke Perry.

Dylan was the quintessential bad boy of the series. He was an alcoholic surfer who befriended Brandon Walsh and began dating his twin sister Brenda until she left for the summer on a trip to Paris, at which time he had an affair with Kelly Taylor.

Dylan's father was a convict and his mother was a hippie. His father was released from prison and he contended with Jim Walsh over Dylan's fortune while Jim acted as manager to Dylan's finances.

Dylan's father, Jack McKay, appeared to have died in a car explosion, but he returned later in the series when it is revealed his death was faked and he entered the Witness Protection Program.

Dylan suffered from many forms of addiction. He was also romantically involed with Brenda Walsh, Kelly Taylor, Valerie Malone, Gina Kincaid, and several other women. He has a younger sister. He eventually married Toni Marchette, daughter of the man who supposedly killed his father, leading to his departure from the show when she was killed after the ceremony.

He later returned at the end of the series to pursue Kelly Taylor. He continued to battle his addictions, but ended up with Kelly.

He suffered many traumas. He was conned out of his fortune bu his sister's mother, and following a carjacking at gunpoint he established an affinity for guns, which almost lead him to kill his friend Brandon Walsh.

He became close with Valerie Malone, who, along with a bounty hunter named J. J. Jones, helped him regain his fortune, but ultimately he remained closest to Kelly.
