DX Studio is a suite of free 3D tools created by Worldweaver Ltd.. It allows users to build interactive 3D applications that run in a DirectX 9.0 player.
DX Studio uses an open file format, based on XML and ZIP compression. Many sub-formats are used to store media for interchange; 3D models can be stored in dxmesh format, scenes in dxscene format, particles in dxparticle format, environments in dxenv format, materials in dxmaterial format and plugin effects in dxeffect format.
Using the open SDK, users can build their own plugins to take advantage of low level DirectX 9 features while still using the same core engine.
