Showy wood aster (Eurybia conspicua) is, as its Latin name implies, a conspicuous addition to the late-summer wildflower population. Its pink-purple coloration and dense blossom growth at the end of a single stalk make it readily noticeable. It blooms from early August through the first killing frosts.
