[edit] Delirious?

Regarding Template:Delirious?, I'd suggest that you only add songs for which articles have been written. While all albums are eventually going to get on Wiki and can be readily included a red links, notability of songs is often debatable (see the proposed guideline at Wikipedia:Notability (songs)) and inclusion in the template should probably wait after creation. [edit] AMA request

Okay, on Wikipedia, a lot of the Bantu languages are refered to by the name that the language uses do refer to itself. For example, an article might use "Kiswahili" to refer to the Swahili language. Kiswahili is the Swahili word for… Swahili. Most English speakers use Swahili to refer to the language. So, I've correted this whenever I've seen it. This happens with other languages too: isiZulu to refer to Zulu, Setswana to refer to Tswana, isiXhosa to refer to Xhosa, etc. My general policy is to use whatever term the article title uses. For example, since the article is found at Zulu language and not at isiZulu language (although a redirect does exist), Zulu is the term that Wikipedia should use.

However, User:Zyxoas disagrees with me. Obviously, we have a dispute. We both argued our points to no consensus. I brought in a third opinion who agreed with me. We still arrived at no consensus. I don't know what to do next. I could conduct a poll, but the policy states that we must cooperate for that to happen and Zyxoas has been uncivil and made some personal attacks. I would like to request arbitration, but I don't feel that I've exhausted every avenue of pre-arbitration solutions. I would just like some advise about the next course of action that I should take. — D. Wo. 09:10, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Hello Dwo, I'm Steve Caruso from the Association of Members' Advocates. I'm sorry to hear about your troubles with reaching concensus. I'm writing to inform you that we have recieved your request, and that we are currently in the process of finding you a suitable Advocate. You should be hearing from us soon. In the meantime, be sure to read through the AMA pages here at Wikipedia to get more aquainted with the process of Advocacy and what to expect. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to leave me a message on my talk page. :-) Unfortunately, at this time all of our Advocates are busy with cases, so the wait may be a bit longer than expected. Apologies! אמר Steve Caruso (desk/AMA) 18:35, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Advocate

Dwo, I've agreed to be your advocate in this case. We can communicate on our talk pages. I've read your summary. Could be begin with your letting me know what is your desired outcome on which specific pages. I will then read each page and the associated talk pages and then either intervene directly or make suggestions for you...or both. DPetersontalk 13:17, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

I just read the Zulupage and don't see either your name or the other's name there, so do direct me to the current location of the dispute. regards, DPetersontalk 13:23, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
I've read the two pages you referenced and the Zulu page. The word used is Zulu, so it seems that your point is made...What am I missing?

The one article Zulu uses that word and isiZulu. It is true that the discussion has become uncivil. If the specific articles (maybe direct me to those) are in a form and use words you are comfortable with, I'd leave it alone. If the articles do not fairly represent your views, then I will look at those and suggest alternative actions. But as far as arguments on talk pages go, I'd suggest just disengaging for a while (a week) and let it go. The important thing is the article itself. DPetersontalk 18:34, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Yes, now I see the problem, thank you. I note that one of the references points to a page: http://www.sesotho.web.za/links.htm where the term Zulu is used, but not isiZulu. So, you may want to point that out. Here are some suggestions, let me know what you prefer to do.

1. Do you want to handle this or have me intervene?

If I intervene, I'd do the following: i. Start a new section on that talk page and suggest that "isiZulu" be replaced with "isiZulu, also known as Zulu" in the first instance. Then that there be a few sentances explaining the issue (who uses isiZulu and who uses Zulu). If you craft this I will propose it. Finally, that other references to isiZulu be replaced with Zulu. ii. If that meets with objections, I would then ask the other person what is that person's proposal and we can evaluate it at that point. iii. If we reach an inpass, then I would hold a poll and if the other person does not abide by that, we can call in a mediator.

2. If you handle it, then you'd do the above. However, the other person may respond better to me than to you.

Finally, it is imperative that you not respond to any uncivil remarks and avoid being defensive...let that person's remarks stand and speak for themselves; it will make your case stronger.

Let me know what you think. Regards DPetersontalk 20:39, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Just checking in to see what you want to do and how you want me to proceed on your behalf. DPetersontalk 01:04, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Glad I could help...If you need any thing more, just contact me. Best of luck to you. DPetersontalk 12:31, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] JBU

D.Wo. - Our intentions were not to disrupt or vandalize the JBU Wiki page, and we assume you have something to do with the page being locked. We actually became discouraged from adding the ET several days ago thanks to the Wiki bots and decided then that we would no longer pursue this. If you can get the page unlocked, I can assure you the ET will never reappear on Wikipedia again. --Mr. End Times Editor
