Erythronium propullans |
The Dwarf Trout Lily, Erythronium propullans, is a rare plant present only in the Cannon River watershed in Rice County, Minnesota and Goodhue County, Minnesota. The plants are believed to be a mutation or sport of the White Trout Lily.
The plants flower in the spring at the same time as Hepaticas, Dutchman's Britches, Bloodroot, and other spring wildflowers. Nerstrand-Big Woods State Park and River Bend Nature Center protect a portion of its habitat.
