This page contains data in support of creating a {{horseracing-stub}}. This stub was approved for creation on 30 July 2005. The discussion is temporarily available at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Stub_sorting/Proposals#.7B.7BHorseracing-stub.7D.7D. This page is kept as a tool for me to begin working on stub sorting articles into this new stub.

As of August 18, 2005 all candidate articles in this page have been tagged with the new {{horseracing-stub}} tag. Of course, this may change over time as articles are improved and are no longer a stub, or others find fit to recategorize them as other types of stubs. I may create a new section on this page to list linked-to articles that do not yet exist, as an easy tool to see potential stubs as they are created.

For horses, the criteria that I used in determining unmarked stub status are that it does not currently have a stub marker, and the following details should be in the article; record, earnings, birth/death, farm it came from, principal trainer, and owner. This is not a strict definition; if the article contains considerable detail but is missing some of the above, it's not a stub for the purposes of the below list. For horse races, the article needs to include past winners, a reasonable amount of history, surface and length of course:
