Talk:Duration of sexual intercourse

Damn, this is funny.--Planetary 18:53, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

during the first marriage ? --Melaen 22:03, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

While there are many features of this topic, a very common, problematic one is that men tend to climax much too soon to suit their female partners. Women usually warm up slower than men, and want to keep going longer once their enthusiasm is aroused. By female standards, men start hot and tend to fizzle out all too soon.

I wrote a longer piece like this and attempted to add it as an edit, but it disappeared after I saved it, and no change took place in the Wiki text. Did I break some rule? Moabalan.

Sometimes that happens to me as well. I just press the back button and save it again.--Planetary 23:43, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Thank you, Planetary. I think the back button didn't take me back that time, though. Don't know. I'd like to have you say more on the "Damn, this is funny" comment, which may be the best line in this entry. It may draw the reader's interest more than anything else here.

My missing edit said something about the drawbacks of approaching this sort of intensely personal subject in the normal passive-voice, encyclopedic tone. "Intromission." Spare me. As Robert Redford and Paul Newman once put it (Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid), "Who are these guys (that think it best to speak of intimacy so impersonally)?" Moabalan

Sorry, I don't have more to say other then that. I just found this through BJAODN, and commented as such.--Planetary 00:20, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

There are many options for a man or couple to overcome premature ejaculation. Is there any reason an encyclopedia article cannot include that sort of information? I would like to have, from those not willing to edit, further ideas on increasing the duration, and reactions to the discussion now in the article. Moablan

Since Wikipedia puts emphasis on not using copyrighted material in articles, I want to point out, as a paralegal working in copyright law, that short quotes like this are not a violation of the authors' copyright. They are allowed under the fair use doctrine of US and British copyright law.Moabalan 00:16, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merge

Most of the content is covered in the sexual intercourse and Human sexual response cycle. I don't think we need to add another article to the truly epic list of sex articles already in existence. Kerowyn Leave a note 09:18, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Nah, it covers the intersection of those two articles. And also it would be handy to move stuff onto this page, thoe two other pages are both very long. Mathmo Talk 16:19, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
