Duravit has always been a pioneer in the bathroom industry, notable for the world's first wall mounted water closet, world's first waterless urinal and introduction of the concept of "washbowl".
In the recently launched Ciottolo and Starck X series Duravit has for the first time used precious metal Platinum as a glazing material. Some other quality aspects are the fact that Duravit glazes the flushing rim as well as the siphon of its water closets from the inside, a detail that is usually ignored by most sanitaryware makers.
