Hi! I am Duncan France. This is reflected in my User Name, in keeping with my philosophy of openness - and which also accords with that of Wikipedia, which I applaud.

I am a petroleum geologist, now retired - mainly for health reasons. If you wish to know more about me, especially on the professional front, please refer to my old website: [1]. Please note that, due to external circumstances, I have not been able to edit this for some years.

So far I have edited (mainly in a 'minor' way) the following articles:

Transform fault - I see the need for an article on Plate Tectonics, Evidence Against, which would give some balance to the globally accepted Plate Tectonics theory that does NOT explain everything...

Krakatoa - Following this, perhaps there is a need for an article on New volcanic islands, such as Surtsey near south coast of Iceland,1963, Fukuto Kuokanaba near Iwo Jima, 1986, an islet near the Metis Shoal in Tonga's Vava'u Group, 1995, and an undersea volcano named Kavachi, in the Solomons, 2000, that may have consolidated into the world's newest island. Ref. 'Krakatoa - the Day the World exploded 27th August 1883', by Simon Winchester, 2003.

Metre - This led me to realise the tables in the Conversion of units article all need substantial housekeeping, in that they would be much improved if the various units were in alphabetical order... BIG job...
