I deleted the bit about the DDs having a connection with the desert of the after-life. The Rincewind books make it pretty clear that they don't.

[edit] Prettier Ones Description.

The description that requires citation(the prettier ones look like the offspring of an octopus and a bycicle) is in fact said in the light fantastic,in one of the earlier pages, but i have no idea how to use that as a citation.
