"Many people think that Dune has made the song Starchild, but it was actually made by a Swedish group with the same name as the song: Starchild."

I don't believe that to be true... If it is, then Dune has made a cover version of the song. Can anyone verify this statement, or else I will remove it. ---- DJ John 16:02, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

Well according to the site Discogs there is an artist named Starchild that made a song called Starchild, Info. Also, Dune did a song called Starchild. So my guess is Dune did a cover. -- Alâ„¢ 13:42, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

See this page for discussion on this matter: http://forums.di.fm/archive/index.php/t-89.html It says:

I know for a fact that Oliver and the others in Dune didn't do Starchild, because I did it. It got released as a single as well as on the FLUID (Stockholm Records) double CD "Nordic Rave". This was actually earlier than the Dune-songs with a similar sound, and Oliver is very aware of that. However, a moron named Alesch in Germany had this Dune-fansite on the Net and got the song and thought it was a Dune-track. So he spread it for one week on his homepage with the wrong label on it, hence the common wrongly labelled mp3 files. Starchild was actually one of the most widely spread mp2 and mp3 songs at the time back then, so no wonder eh.

I don't think they made a cover either, all starship songs labeled as "dune" sounds exactly the same as the original. 213.67.209.203 19:59, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
