[edit] Episode discussion

  • "I'm afraid CBS has lied. They didn't confirm the SpongeBob fifth season. Rumored episodes have been unconfirmed. Dunces & Dragons is nothing but the final episode of SpongeBob SquarePants" Bobber1.
  • Prove it.
  • CBS hasn't lied. They did confirm the SpongeBob fifth season. Rumored episodes have been confirmed. SpongeBob Joins Guns N' Roses has been confirmed. Dunces & Dragons is not the final episode of SpongeBob SquarePants!
  • If SpongeBob Joins Guns N' Roses is confirmed where's your proof? --Caldorwards4 04:45, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
  • Yeah, Caldowards is right. Where's your proof???!!!--SpongeBobBoy 12:52, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Should we take this episode seriously as an episode where SpongeBob and Patrick go back to the Middle Ages? I think that this episode was just Spongebob's dream after he hit the ground. And I see odvious goof notices such as:

There is a historical inaccuracy in the episode concerning karate Since, the episode takes place in Medieval England, (hence Bikini Bottom shire), a shire being an English county, there would be no karate because Karate was only used in Medieval Japan in the 12th Century and full European contact with Japan was not made until the 19th Century. Also, Europeans had no knowledge of Japan, or even Japanese martial arts, karate and the Japanese had no knowledge of the outside world, or even Europe, since Japan was isolated from outside contact until the 19th Century. In addition, there was only full knowledge of karate in the 20th Century. The international popularity of karate only happened in the 20th Century and karate was literally unknown by Europeans in the 12th Century. Karate was only known by Europeans and Americans in the 20th Century.

Not only is there no solid evidence that it takes place in Medieval England. Also, anarchronisms should be ignored, after all, it's just a children's cartoon. If it was a documentary, this would fit in a much more logical sense. In a chilren's show, just no.
