Duncan Falls is located on route 60 south of Zanesville, Ohio Duncan Falls got its name when by a white hunnter named Duncan who lived at the mouth of salt creek. He crossed the Muskingum River at the falls and set traps on the other side. Indians stole the furs of the animals caught in traps. Duncan watched the thief, one day Duncan watched the thief robbing his trap, Duncan shot him with a bow and arrow and killed him.The friends of the indian tried to kill Duncan onece and the second time they did he fell in the river and the indians friends yelled Duncan Falls so that is what they called the city.
