Dunans Castle is located in Glendaruel (off the A886) in the Argyll and Bute region of Scotland.

The castle was originally home to the Fletcher Clan who moved to the site c.1745 carrying with them the door of their previous home at Achallader Castle. In 1864 the original mansion-style house (to the left in the picture) was elaborated into its present dramatic Franco-baronial form by the architect Andrew Kerr.

Dunans was bought in 1999 by Robert & Ewa Lucas-Gardiner who ran the house as an hotel until it burned down in 2001.

The current owners have begun a restoration project of the castle and grounds, known as the Dunans Heritage Project. The restored castle will be used as a home for the Dixon-Spains and as a tourism, community, arts and business venue. Since mid-2006 the grounds have been open to the public.

Dunans Bridge is an A-listed structure, designed by Thomas Telford and constructed to commemorate the battle of Waterloo. The three-arched rubble construction is considered internationally important as it is the only extant bridge of this type. It stands over 15 metres from the river bed.

Associated with the site, but still in the ownership of the Fletchers is the Fletcher Mausoleum, a grade C listed structure.

The castle also had a private chapel.
