Dumiso Dabengwa

Born on 6 Dec 1939[1] he became a member of the predominantly Ndebele ZIPRA forces in the Rhodesian bush war. Where he became the chief of intelligence.
After the war, in 1982, he was charged, with Lookout Masuku and four others, of treason by the Mugabe regime. They were acquitted, for lack of evidence in 1983. On release they were redetained under emergency regulations. At this time started the slaugher of many Matebele people called the Gukurahundi.
He was released about four years later.
Between 1992 and 2000 he was appointed Minister of Home Affairs in the Zimbabwe government and in 1991 was appointed to the chair of the Matebelaland Zambezi Water Project.
