Dumfries and Galloway is a constituency of in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It was created for the 2005 general election, replacing Galloway and Upper Nithsdale and part of Dumfries.

It covers Galloway and the town of Dumfries, occupying most of the Dumfries and Galloway council area.

[edit] Boundaries

This seat does not follow the boundaries of the Dumfries and Galloway council area, but does bring together a large part of it from Stranraer in the west through Newton Stewart, The Machars and Kirkcudbright. The major part of the town of Dumfries is included in the seat - the excluded areas being those parts of the Nithsdale East and Caerlaverock wards that lie within Dumfries town.
