Dulwich Hill Railway Station (formerly Wardell Rd) is part of the CityRail network, on the Bankstown line. Located in the Sydney suburb of Dulwich Hill, it serves a residential area. A double track goods line was added to the north of the passenger lines. It has two platforms using the island platform configuration - the only station on the section running parallel to the goods line not to be converted to side platforms.
The Bankstown line passes through Marrickville before arriving at Dulwich Hill through a cut at Wardell Road (where the station is situated), then follows Ewart Street over Hercules Street to Hurlstone Park.
The Rozelle goods railway (1916) branches off from the main goods line just to the West of the station (Wardell Rd Junction). It passes through the Dulwich Hill from Parramatta Road near Old Canterbury Road, follows Constitution Road, crosses under New Canterbury Road and then follows Hercules Street to join the main line.
