Duke of York Islands, (formerly German: Neu Lauenburg), is a group of islands between the islands of New Britain and New Ireland, at 4.1666667° S 152.45° ECoordinates: 4.1666667° S 152.45° E. Islands are part of Bismarck Archipelago. The largest island of the group is Duke of York Island; other islands include Makada, Kabakon, Kerawara, Ulu, and Mioko. The Duke of York Islands are named after Duke of York.

The islands are low-lying, and are threatened with inundation due to rising sea levels. Already one thousand of the inhabitants have been evacuated and resettled in New Britain.[1]
