Duivendrecht in the municipality of Ouder-Amstel.

Duivendrecht (52°20′N 4°56′E) is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Ouder-Amstel, and lies about 6 km southeast of Amsterdam.

The statistical area "Duivendrecht", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 4880.[1]

The village has a combined rail and metro station. This important station allows interchange between rail routes 20 and 30 which cross here on different levels (its abbreviation is "dvd", see train routes). The lower (yet elevated) level (a broad island platform which also houses the station hall) serves line 30 from Schiphol Airport to Weesp, Almere, and Amersfoort. The higher level has two platforms each serving trains on line 20 from Amsterdam to Utrecht at the outer side and metros at the inner side (the metro line at this point runs between the two tracks of the main railway). Duivendrecht is largely an interchange station: the village itself is quite small. However, Duivendrecht Station is near the Amsterdam ArenA. As of December 2006, less trains will call at Duivendrecht because of reduced passenger numbers due to the Utrechtboog.
