[edit] Welcome!

Hi, Duel me, Welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly.

[edit] Additional tips

Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name followed by a datestamp using four tildes (~). You should do this after all your posts on talk pages.
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

Here are some tasks you can do:

Happy Wiki-ing, from +Hexagon1 (t) 07:50, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] OK

OK, just be careful. Wikipedia is not censored per-se, but anything blatantly offensive is usually removed. +Hexagon1 (t) 07:50, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your essay

Please don't post messages on pages that are completely irrelevant to the topic of the page. It can be seen as spam and Wikipedia regards adding spam to articles or talk pages as a form of vandalism. Thank you. --A Y Arktos\talk 12:43, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

  • It was about your post to Talk:Chinese Australian - I have reverted your comments. Please sign your comments with four tildes ~~~~ I have not "dobbed" on you and it doesn't matter whether or not I am an admin. --A Y Arktos\talk 19:43, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WP:CIVIL

It is important to keep a cool head, especially when responding to comments against you or your edits. Personal attacks and disruptive comments only escalate a situation; please keep calm and remember that action can be taken against other parties if necessary. Attacking another user back can only satisfy trolls or anger contributors and leads to general bad feeling. Please try to remain civil with your comments. Thanks! -- Longhair 13:00, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Hello! What's this? Incivility again? Please watch it, I thought you said you wouldn't be incivil again. +Hexagon1 (t) 15:42, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
well if u had the interest to check my talk page again ill tell u i was provoked 2 do that. go ask that arktos guy wat happened. p.s i got baned for sum dumbass reason
Two things. AYArktos is female. Secondly, you cannot blame others for your own actions. Provocation or not, you're in 100% control of your edits. Please take the time to again read over the link highlighted above. Seems you've not yet learned what the article on civility has to offer. -- Longhair 03:46, 13 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Screenshot002.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Screenshot002.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 11:06, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Screenshot002.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded, Image:Screenshot002.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Hi there. Saw you at Longhair's page. Only a bureaucrat can do that. Please see Wikipedia:Changing usernames.Blnguyen | rant-line 05:44, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
