[edit] Mediation request
A request for mediation has been filed with the Mediation Committee that lists you as a party. The Mediation Committee requires that all parties listed in a mediation must be notified of the mediation. Please review the request at Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/Transcendental Meditation, and indicate whether you agree or refuse to mediate. If you are unfamiliar with mediation, please refer to Wikipedia:Mediation. There are only seven days for everyone to agree, so please check as soon as possible. TimidGuy 18:24, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- OK - I am glad I happened to see this request. I'm not sure what all is involved, but I agree to participate. My interest is in wikipedia maintaining the highest quality references and information sources available. Fortunately, the vast majority of wikipedia editors want this as well, and have ranked academic peer reviewed scholarship as the top level of RS. I was surprised to find a much lower quality of RS in the TM wikipedia article than is abundantly available in the published literature. Further, I believe in accurate representation of information, and having begun going through all of the available peer review published studies on meditation, including on TM, I find that the current references and discussion on TM research are decidedly skewed to be far more negative than the substantial body of peer reviewed academic research would suggest. I have no problem including a representation of all science research done on this or any topic, but strongly feel that it should draw from, and be in proportion to what is found in, the peer review published literature.
