Duchess Marie of Mecklenburg

Duchess Marie of Mecklenburg (8 May 1878-14 October 1918)

She was the eldest daughter of Adolf Friedrich V, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and Princess Elisabeth of Anhalt.

On the 22 June 1899 Marie married firstly with Count Georges Jametel (1859-1944). They divorced in 1908 and both later remarried. They had two children:

  1. George, Count de Jametel (1904-1982)
  2. Countess Marie Auguste Jametel (1905-1969)

She married secondly Prince Julius Ernst of Lippe (1873-1952) the son of Count Ernst of Lippe-Biesterfeld, from this marriage she had two children:

  1. Princess Elisabeth (born 1916)
  2. Prince Ernst August (1917-1990)
