Dublin Transportation Office

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dublin Transportation Office (DTO) is a government agency, formed in 1996, which provides transport and land use advise to organisations operating in the Greater Dublin Area. It has relatively limited powers and is not a full transport authority. However the DTO is largely responsible for the Quality Bus Corridor initiative which has had some success in promoting use of buses in Dublin.

A fully-fledged transport authority for Dublin [1] has been promised by the Irish Government though no definite dates have been set. Such a body may well replace or subsume the activities of the current DTO.
