Talk:Duane
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Duane is also a last name, don't you know. It is of Irish roots. Apparently it is an anglicised form of Gaelic Ó Dubháin or Ó Damháin (says Ancestry.com, but perhaps a better resource is needed).
Is there a section of last names, or would this be appropriate here at all?

This is an extremely "creative" derivation of the name. Other than being an Irish surname, it appears to have come from the Gaelic for "swarthy" in its first name sense. I added the "not verified" tag, since there are no citations, and I can't find anything that supports this particular factoid. Trxi 03:39, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
