Duarte Mendes

Duarte Mendes (1947-) is a former portuguese captain and singer. He has participated in Festival RTP da Canção in 1970, 1972 and 1973 but he couldn't win. He has won Festival RTP da Canção in (1975) when has performed the song Madrugada (lyrics and song from José Luís Tinoco), about Colonial War and the Carnation Revolution in last year. Duarte Mendes was a captain in Carnation Revolution which has took place in April 25, 1974 in Portugal. This revolution has finished with the dictatorship in Portugal (1926-1974)
He has represented Portugal in Eurovision Song Contest 1975 with that song. He has finished the contest in 16th place and 16 points
