[edit] oscars

seems like you are showing up everywhere i go.

oscars is the preferred name outside the u.s. "academy award" is overly generic -- there are many academies. talk to a person in japan, china, india, indonesia, brazil. they're far more likely to know of "oscar" than "academy awards", and that's what wiki is about: an encyclopedia for the whole world. you may have noticed the website is "oscar.com" not and in the last show the word OSCAR in huge gold letters above the stage [1]

It should also be noted that the Oscar.com site to which you so enthusiastically link does not include the word 'Oscar' anywhere else besides the URL; it is 'Academy Awards' throughout...uhhh just on glancing at the front page I see a few...the url OSCAR.COM, THE page title (OSCAR.COM) huge red OSCAR, then the OSCAR NIGHT, the WHO TOOK HOME THE OSCAR, NAME THE OSCAR WINNER, ONLY ON OSCAR.COM, WORLDS BIGGEST OSCAR POOL, etc. worldwide view dictates "oscar", and ya know, the commonly used word is "oscar", add that to the huge letters above the stage ([2]), its pretty indisputable

Don't get too "anxious", Doctor. If you want every reference to say Oscar go for it!
