A drop off is a mountain biking term. Experienced riders who ride on black routes may come across them. A drop off is a step down in the terrain and can range from 20cm to 200ft. Most drop offs are met either by downhill riders, or freeriders. These riders have long travel bikes above 6 inches for bigger drops.
