DRJ was born in Tucson, Arizona, USA in the early part of the 1980's. Averaging approximately one relocation each year has allowed him to live in, at various times, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, and Indiana. During his undergraduate college career, he studied theology and philosophy, and he is currently developing a series of humorous T-shirts or bumper stickers which might appeal only to practicing philosophers. His active interests include camping, hiking, climbing, biking, Great Books, fictional or non-fictional composition, horticulture, and the culinary arts.

[edit] Historical Development

During the 1980's, I moved a number of times throughout the Southwestern and Midwestern United States. This trend has continued until today, and I have averaged one move per year. In spite of my rather inconstant housing, I only attended two schools from kindergarten through my senior year.

During my undergraduate college years, I chose to major first in Biblical Studies and then in Philosophy. I chose this course of study with the intention of becoming an author. I continue to write fiction--primarily novels and short stories--and non-fiction--usually essays with an emphasis on philosophical or Biblical topics. I am currently in the process of writing three short stories, an essay which purports to solve the Gettier problem and a longer work which evaluates the current interaction between Christians, Christianity, and politics and in which I hope to present a Biblical-political theory which properly accounts for all of the Scriptural commentary on the issue.

With the assistance of a Kuhn's Scholarship, I am pursuing a Masters of Divinity degree with an emphasis on Biblical Communication at Phoenix Seminary in Phoenix, Arizona. This degree includes extensive work and study in the original languages of the Biblical manuscripts, including Greek and Hebrew. My intention upon completion of this course of studies is to serve as a missionary and to secure a position as a professor of Biblical studies, hopefully at the Instituto Bíblico y Seminario Teológico de España in Barcelona, Spain, although I'm flexible on the location.

I married in 2001, and remain happily so. My wife is smarter and more attractive than I am, which is always a good thing. We have no children, and we have just purchased our first house.
