Dream Evil is Dio's fourth album, released on July 21, 1987.

Dream Evil features former Rough Cutt members Craig Goldy and Claude Schnell.

Its singles were "All The Fools Sailed Away" / "Overlove" and "I Could Have Been A Dreamer".

Dream Evil was Dio's last album of the 1980s. By the time their next album was recorded in 1990, drummer Vinny Appice had left; he would be replaced by former AC/DC drummer Simon Wright.

The cover for the Dream Evil album was highly controversial due to the "altered" Dio logo on it. A logo that, as critics were quick to point out, when turned upside-down spells out "devil".

The Swedish heavy metal music group Dream Evil got their name from the title of this album.
