[edit] Image Tagging Image:TaraReidPressPhoto.JPG
|
Thanks for uploading Image:TaraReidPressPhoto.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. adnghiem501 00:28, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
- If you remember where you got the photo from a website, please provide a URL to the image description page. In addition, you can use {{promotional}} to tag the picture like this:
This is a copyrighted image that has been released by a company or organization to promote their work or product in the media, such as advertising material or a promotional photo in a press kit.
The copyright for it is most likely owned by the company who created the promotional item or the artist who produced the item in question; you must provide evidence of such ownership. Lack of such evidence is grounds for deletion.
It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of promotional material
- to illustrate the work or product being discussed;
- where the image is unrepeatable, i.e. a free image could not be created to replace it;
- on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation,
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Copyrights for more information.
To the uploader: please add a detailed fair use rationale for each use, as described on Wikipedia:Image description page, as well as the source of the work and copyright information.
- adnghiem501 06:53, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
- The picture has no source. If you got it from the Internet, please provide the URL to the page. Otherwise, it will be deleted. adnghiem501 07:00, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Courtney_Cummz_Hot.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Courtney_Cummz_Hot.JPG. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. [edit] Truthiness issue, what Stephen Colbert said
Fine, leave it as "them", whether it's factual or truthiness. Since you're more than willing to keep screaming until you get your way, I don't feel like fighting about it. So don't worry about having to hold your breath until you turn blue. Davidkevin 07:35, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for calling me a "Muslim fundamentalist bitching about cartoons" and a multitude of other childish insults. I enjoyed your maturity on the wikipedia! --DragonWR12LB 07:45, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

- I regretted saying that as inappropriately over the top, which is why I removed it -- sometimes one hits the "save" key too quickly. My apology for that.

- As I said elsewhere, I have a life, and wife, and children, and this teapot tempest isn't worth the time. I'm deleting the whole thing, as I did in my own User Talk page. Good-bye.

In responce to your question, I heard "*BLEEP* Them!" It's pretty dynstinctive, one syllable rather than five, ending in 'em' rather than 'ah' and so forth. Tyciol 07:52, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks, I was looking for a second opinoin as there has been argument over which of the two it was. --DragonWR12LB 07:54, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reverting vandalism
Go check out WP:REVERT, it has all the instructions. Just be careful that you're getting rid of all the vandalism with the version you choose. - dharmabum 08:05, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. - dharmabum 08:13, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- Another tip for you: The templates to protect a page from vandalism don't work unless an administrator is the one to add them. Otherwise, they're just a pretty little box of text. :) - dharmabum 08:26, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- What's wrong with a pretty little box? :) -Jcbarr 08:31, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, oh well....they look cool! --DragonWR12LB 08:34, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
- Dang some punk doesn't like what I did to MY talk page... --DragonWR12LB 10:23, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 3-Revert Rule
Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you.
- Thanks ;)! Uhh can I say...likewise? --DragonWR12LB 08:43, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
-
- None of this would be necessary if you would simply delete the material you inappropriately lifted from my User Talk page.
-
- Neither of us has behaved perfectly here, but if you do that, this will be over as far as I'm concerned, and can be for you, too. Otherwise, I will have to request an Administrator.
-
- I would prefer to make peace. I hope you can see the way to that, too.

I am not an admin, but I am trying to keep the page clean. If the person does it one more time, I will report them to the admin. I haven't been here long, but I want to apply for adminship.

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:PortLylindailLocation.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:PortLylindailLocation.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Portrait
Thanks. I'd rather have a Star Fox Adventures portrait, they did much better on the art in that game, imho, but I never saw one here on Wikipedia.--Fox Mccloud 21:18, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Images
Word to the wise, you are going to need to add a bit more information for your images, unless you want them to be deleted by the autobots. They should follow along the lines of:
-
-
-
- Taken from www.Kryptonsite.com
- Smallville: "Run"
- actors: Tom Welling & unknown
-
- All images are taking from trailers and in-episode stills.
-
- Fair-use { {tv-screenshot} } (note the spaces are only to keep the image from actually appearing)
-
- It should look something like that. Bignole 16:20, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
-
- The reason I changed it is because it was also in better focus. The photos do not have to be in perfect symmetry with each other. If you change something, I hope it will be that Facade photo, because it's all smooshed. Bignole 01:14, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- It's looks fine now, as well. Good job on the rest of the pics, keep it up, and make sure you have enough info so that they aren't flagged and deleted. Bignole 01:29, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
-
- You're right, it's been awhile since the episode. Clark heated up the k-ring at the end. Bignole 22:52, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] VandalProof
Thank you for applying to VandalProof. However, due to possible abuse of the program, new users with fewer than 250 mainspace edits, users who have recently been involved in edit wars, and users with a history of vandalism are generally not accepted. Since you currently only have 179 mainspace edits, your application has been declined. Even so, please don't take this personally and feel free to apply again when you meet the above mentioned requirements.--TBCTaLk?!? 08:00, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
- Mainspace edits are edits to articles, not including edits to Wikiprojects, userpages, talkpages or portals --TBCTaLk?!? 04:13, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Usage of the User Monty Python userbox
Hello there...I have come up with a whole slew of new usages for the User Monty Python userbox. They are currently located in my sandbox. I would like your opinion before I put them up for general consumption, and if you have any other suggestions, please let me know.

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Smallville s04e05.jpg)
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Smallville s04e05.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BigDT 00:26, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
