Dragonette are a part Canadian part British electro-pop music band. They are currently signed to Mercury UK.

Although no official material has been released yet they have been generating interest in the by doing gigs in small venues in the UK and Canada. They were recently confirmed as the opening act for the Sugababes upcoming UK tour. An EP was released as promo only and the songs have gained the attention of many critics such as the popular music blog Popjustice where they were named the #1 pop act to look out for in 2007.

The band is made up of Canadian singer Martina Sorbara, her husband Dan Kurtz, Will Stapleton and Joel Stouffer. All members with the exception of Will Stapleton (born in London), are from Toronto, but now they all live in West London. [1]

Dragonette are recording their debut album in London for a near-future release.

In early February 2007 the band flew to Toronto to shoot a music video for the song "I Get Around" at the Wicked club on Queen St. Shooting took over 16 hours, and the video has been projected for an April release. [2]

On Thursday, February 08 2007, the video for the track "Jesus Doesn't Love Me", which was filmed in December 2006, leaked onto the internet, through the website Myspace.com and also on Popjustice.com. The video has since been removed from Myspace, as it was not intended to be viewed at this point in time.

Dragonette showcased their music at a music industry gig in London, at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, on March 12. [3]
