Dragon Campaign

The Dragon Campaign was a fictional war in the Sony Playstation RPG, The Legend of Dragoon, in which Humans had fought the Winglies for their freedom under the guidance of the late Emperor Diaz.
About 10,000 years ago, Melbu Frahma, a Wingly, had enslaved all races borne by the Divine Tree--including Humans. However the humans rebelled in what is now known as the Dragon Campaign. In the war, Humans had used Dragons and the Winglies used Virages to counter their enemy.
In the end, Zieg Feld stabbed Melbu with his sword, allowing the Humans to acquire the future of Endiness. However, Melbu Frama did not die as his spirit infested Zieg Feld's body.

[edit] Major Battles
There were five major battles that were mentioned in canon during the Dragon Campaign. These were:
The Battle of Vellweb - The battle where Winglies assaulted the Human Capital, in which the winglies managed to get Birth City in range of the large battery used by the humans. Humans gained victory, but most of Vellweb needed major repairs.
The Battle of Magical City Aglis - The magical city of the Winglies that was shot down sometime during the Dragon Campaign. During the battle, Damia was accidentally killed by Rose and Zieg. The city crashed into the waters off the coast of what would one day become Rouge.
The Battle of Law City Zenebatos - The law city of the Winglies wasn't safe from the Dragoons and it is believed that Zieg and Rose personally took this city. After the Dragoons left, small magically controlled robots declared martial law for the city.
The Battle of Death City Mayfil - The Wind Dragoon participated in this battle, and the aftermath happened to cause fear of the hell that awaited him there, attaching his soul to his room in Vellweb. (Death City was the place where Winglies controlled where their souls went after death.) The aftermath of this was that the dragoons ¨completely annihilated¨ the city in reference to disc 4 where Rose explained that the city played with their souls so they had to destroy the city in order to save the souls of the condemned. During this battle, Syuveil was brought down by an arrow to the eye.
The battle of Imperial City Kadessa - This battle was won by the Humans, though at a high price as most of the Dragoons were killed. Zieg attacked Melbu Frahma with a powerful attack which killed him, but left Zieg in a stone form afterwards. As for the other Dragoons: Kanzas blew himself up, Shirley and Belzac were killed by the Super Virage´s ray attack. The only Dragoon survivor was Rose. The Super Virage used in the battle was wounded by the Thunder Dragoon's kamikaze attack, but still survived to attack the characters 10,000 years later in the game at Kadessa.
