Dragoljub Janosevic

Dragoljub Janošević (Janosevic) (born 8 July 1923) is a Yugoslav chess master.
In the 1950s and 1960s he played several times in the final of the Yugoslav Championship, and in international events during this period he scored victories over such strong grandmasters as Bent Larsen, Mikhail Tal, Tigran Petrosian and Bobby Fischer. However, he was never able to string enough first-class results together to join the ranks of the world's elite.
In 1958, he drew a mini-match with Fischer in Belgrade (+0 –0 =2). In 1962, he tied for 3rd-4th in Belgrade (Svetozar Gligorić won). In 1963, he tied for 8-10th in Belgrade (Milan Matulović won). In 1966, he tied for 7-8th in Sarajevo (Mikhail Tal and Dragoljub Čirić won). In 1966, he took 2nd, behind Semen Furman, in Harrachov.
In 1967, Janosevic took 14th in Skopje (Fischer won) but beat the winner in their individual game. In 1967, he tied for 4-5th in Venice (Jan Hein Donner won). In 1968, he tied for 3rd-6th in Solingen (Levente Lengyel won). In 1968, he tied for 14-15th in Skopje (Lajos Portisch won). In 1969, he tied for 10-11th in Sarajevo (Viktor Korchnoi won). In 1969, he won in Vršac.
In 1970, he tied for 7-8th in Amsterdam (Lev Polugaevsky and Boris Spassky won). In 1970, he tied for 14-16th in Wijk aan Zee (Mark Taimanov won). In 1970, he won in Bari. In 1971, he tied for 14-15th in Netanya (Lubomir Kavalek and Bruno Parma won). In 1973, he won in Kikinda. In 1974, he tied for 2nd-3rd, behind Gyula Sax, in Madonna di Campiglio.
He became an International Master in 1964 and earned the Grandmaster title the following year.
