Sorry, I do not quite get the point of your edit to this article (which I have not reverted). A Ph.D. degree is a doctorate; so why change from one to the other? If anything, changing to your format is less precise, as it may be taken to mean that he held a medical degree which, of course, he did not. Also the author of the article, whose expertise on the NSDAP era I defer to, tells me that the prefix "Dr" rather than the suffix "Ph.D" was the normal usage at the time. This is why I did not revert you, and why I will not of course do so now. I am sorry if you felt that I was crticising, which I was not. Quizical, yes. Is this penchant for using largely honorary titles for historical figures something that is common? Is there a policy or guideline for it? At the very least I believe you should provide better argumentation at talk:Joseph Goebbels than you've provided so far.
