Dr. Roy Clyburn

Roy Clyburn, M.D. was a fictional character on the classic sixties situation comedy, The Beverly Hillbillies. He was played by actor Fred Clark.
Dr. Roy Clyburn was a general practitioner who operated out of Beverly Hills, California. His clientele was usually residents from that community and was also a good friend to Milburn Drysdale, the pompous president of the Commerce Bank of Beverly Hills.
However, he, like Milburn's wife, Margaret, despised the Clampett family for coming into Beverly Hills. However, he had no real fault with Jed Clampett; Elly May Clampett; or Jethro Bodine. It was Granny that he had the worst feud with.
He believed that she was not licensed to practice medicine, (she believed that M.D. stood for Mountain Doctor; not for what it really means, medicine doctor). This started a feud between the two, and Dr. Clyburn believed that she should be charged with practicing without a license. He has pressed charges against her numerous times, but mostly they were dropped because she would invariably help him out, and he would end up grateful to her.
However, he and Granny remained bitter rivals in the world of medicine.
